Premium Wine Grapes & Certified Scion Wood

Welcome to the Dempel Hopland Vineyard and Grapevine Nursery. Our vineyard, in the picturesque Sanel Valley of Mendocino County, California, produces seven varieties of fruit with a total wine grape production and nursery area of 20 acres.

The seven blocks of vineyard are planted on sloping benches and hillsides with an eastern exposure, and are located above the Russian River between the towns of Ukiah and Hopland. Water is supplied by drip-irrigation from two on-site reservoirs that retain winter rain.

The nursery is a licensed California Department of Food & Agriculture (CDFA) Nursery. Our certified propagation material (scion wood) includes two Cabernet Sauvignon clones, two of our own proprietary Zinfandel clones, and one clone of Gewarztraminer, Merlot, Petit Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, and Mourvedre.
